WhatsApp campaigns, approved in the chat.
Turn the email you already drafted into a WhatsApp message, check it against Meta’s rules, see the cost per country, and confirm on the card. Meta bills its message fees to you directly; Tellnod adds no markup.
WhatsApp opens once Meta verifies Tellnod as a provider. Email works today, with the same contacts, brand and approval.
From a sentence to a sent template.
Every step happens in the conversation. The parts Meta controls are shown, not hidden.
- 01
Connect your WhatsApp Business number
Meta’s own sign-up opens from a card in the chat and brings you back to the same conversation. The number and the Meta account stay yours.
- 02
Start from your email
Tellnod turns an email draft into a WhatsApp template: body text, an image header and link buttons, checked against Meta’s limits before you submit.
- 03
Submit the template to Meta
Meta reviews every marketing template, usually within a day. The card shows each one as draft, in review, approved, paused or rejected.
- 04
Send only to people who opted in
Each number carries its own opt-in record: where, when and the words they agreed to. An email subscription does not count for WhatsApp, so Tellnod keeps them apart.
- 05
See the cost, then confirm
The confirmation card freezes the list and shows recipients by country with Meta’s rate for each. Only you can press Confirm.
- 06
Read the results
Delivered and read come back to the same chat, next to your email results.
What a WhatsApp campaign can carry.
Marketing on WhatsApp uses templates. Tellnod checks each part before Meta sees it.

Text up to 1,024 characters with the customer’s name and other details filled in.
Image header
One product or campaign image above the text.
Buttons
Up to two link buttons and one call button, 25 characters each, links on HTTPS.

Free-form replies when a customer writes to you first.
Meta’s fee, with nothing added.
You pay Meta for delivered messages and Tellnod for the add-on. The card shows both before you confirm.
- Meta charges per delivered template message. The rate depends on the template category (marketing, utility or authentication) and the recipient’s country.
- Meta bills you directly. Tellnod adds no markup per message.
- The WhatsApp add-on is US$15 a month on top of your Tellnod plan.
- Replies inside the 24-hour customer service window are free.
| Recipient’s country | Rate |
|---|---|
| India | US$0.0118 |
| Indonesia | US$0.0411 |
| Brazil | US$0.0625 |
| Mexico | US$0.0397 |
| United Arab Emirates | US$0.0576 |
| United Kingdom | US$0.0635 |
Meta’s rules, built in.
Breaking WhatsApp’s rules can get a number restricted. Tellnod applies them before anything is sent.
Opt-in first
Meta requires a clear opt-in that names your business. Tellnod records the source and the words shown for every number.
Approved templates only
Outside a customer’s 24-hour reply window, only templates Meta approved can be sent.
Easy opt-out
Every marketing template has a way to stop. STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE and the stop button work in many languages, and START resubscribes.
Respectful frequency
At most one marketing message a day and three a week per person, and none between 21:00 and 09:00 in their time zone.
Where it sends
No marketing templates to +1 numbers in the US and Canada, and nothing to sanctioned countries. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland only opt-in you collected yourself counts.
Number health
New numbers ramp up through Meta’s daily limits, and sending stops if the number’s quality rating turns red.
What you will ask.
Plain sentences, the same way you ask for email today.
- “Turn the autumn edit email into a WhatsApp template and check it against Meta’s rules.”
- “Send the VIP template to customers in Malaysia and Singapore who opted in on WhatsApp. Show me the cost first.”
- “Which WhatsApp templates are still in review?”
- “How many of last week’s WhatsApp messages were read?”

Questions, answered.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?
You need a WhatsApp Business number on Meta. When WhatsApp opens, you connect it through Meta’s sign-up from a card in the chat. There is no separate API setup.
What does WhatsApp cost with Tellnod?
Meta’s per-message fees, billed by Meta with no markup, plus the US$15 monthly add-on. The confirmation card shows the estimated cost by country before you confirm.
Why do marketing messages need a template?
Meta only allows businesses to start a conversation with a template it has approved. Tellnod checks the template first, so fewer are rejected.
Can I send to my email list?
Only to contacts who also opted in to WhatsApp. An email subscription is not WhatsApp consent, so Tellnod asks for opt-in proof for each number.
Can the AI send WhatsApp messages on its own?
No. As with email, the AI prepares the send and only you can press Confirm on the card.
When does WhatsApp open?
Once Meta verifies Tellnod as a provider. Start with email now: your contacts, brand and audiences carry over when WhatsApp opens.
Start with email today. Add WhatsApp when it opens.
Same contacts, same brand, same approval. Connect Tellnod in about a minute.
